Introduction
We are seeking a responsible, experienced, and safety-conscious Code 14 Driver with a valid Hazchem Certification to transport hazardous and non-hazardous goods safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all transport regulations, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and delivering goods on time while adhering to company policies and legal requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy motor vehicles in a safe and professional manner.

Transport hazardous materials in accordance with Hazchem regulations and safety procedures.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately and maintained.

Load and offload cargo safely when required.

Adhere to all road traffic regulations and company safety standards.

Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents, or delays promptly.

Secure loads correctly to prevent damage or safety risks.

Maintain cleanliness and good condition of assigned vehicles.

Comply with customer delivery schedules and service requirements.

Ensure hazardous goods are transported with the correct placarding and documentation.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Licenses

Valid Code 14 Driver’s License (EC).

Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).

Valid Hazchem Certification.

Grade 12 (Matric) preferred.

Defensive Driving Certificate will be advantageous.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience operating heavy-duty vehicles.

Proven experience transporting hazardous chemicals or dangerous goods.

Experience with long-distance and local deliveries.

Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.

Knowledge & Skills

Sound knowledge of South African road traffic laws and transport regulations.

Understanding of hazardous goods handling and emergency procedures.

Ability to complete delivery documentation accurately.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime when required.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
