Duties & Responsibilities
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the safe and secure operation of company vehicles and assets during deliveries.
Verify all delivery documentation before, during, and after each delivery.
Check goods with receiving staff and assist with offloading when required.
Deliver goods to SPAR stores safely, accurately, and within scheduled timeframes.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects to management.
Operate vehicle equipment, including tail lifts, refrigerated units, tautliner curtains, shoring bars, and perform coupling and uncoupling procedures.
Monitor the loading and offloading of stock to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Inspect store damages (claims), returns, assets, and recycling collected from stores, ensuring all loads are properly secured to prevent further damage.
Ensure all relevant documentation is accurately completed, signed, and stamped.
Return toll cards and refuel the truck after each delivery.
Achieve Driver Performance and Housekeeping targets.
Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
