Job Description

A growing manufacturing company is looking for a detail-oriented Production Planner Assistant with experience in production planning, stock control, and ERP systems to support daily production scheduling, inventory management, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily production planning and scheduling to meet production targets.
  • Monitor raw material, work-in-progress, and finished goods stock levels.
  • Capture and update production schedules, stock movements, and order information on the ERP system.
  • Track production orders and ensure accurate order status updates.
  • Prepare stock requisitions and coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability.
  • Conduct regular stock counts, inventory checks, and assist with stock audits.
  • Investigate and report stock discrepancies and inventory variances.
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and stock control records.
  • Assist with production reporting, stock analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Support communication between production, sales, dispatch, and procurement teams regarding production schedules and stock availability.
  • Assist with managing boxed product inventory and order tracking.
  • Support quality control processes by recording damaged or rejected stock and maintaining relevant documentation.
  • Organise and maintain production and inventory documentation and filing systems.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Diploma or certificate in Production Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related field is advantageous.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a production planning, production administration, or stock control role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using ERP or production planning systems.
  • Good understanding of inventory control and production scheduling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong administrative, organisational, and data capturing skills.
  • High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
