Job Description

We are seeking a high-performing and experienced Packaging Engineer to join a fast-paced personal care manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of packaging design, testing, validation, and continuous improvement across cosmetic and personal care product lines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently lead the design, development, testing, and evaluation of packaging for cosmetic and personal care products
  • Manage compatibility testing between products and packaging materials to ensure shelf-life and product integrity requirements are met
  • Conduct physical testing of packaging components and finished packs to assess end-user experience and prevent packaging failures
  • Perform dimensional analysis of packaging and components to ensure compliance with technical specifications
  • Compile detailed technical reports and approve packaging for production release
  • Recommend suitable packaging materials and assess interaction with cosmetic formulations, decoration processes, and packaging technologies
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance, calibration, and verification of packaging testing equipment
  • Contribute to packaging redesign initiatives with a focus on sustainability and recyclability improvements
  • Lead packaging trials within the manufacturing facility
  • Identify and implement packaging cost-saving initiatives
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding packaging-related issues
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions for recurring packaging defects
  • Drive improvements in packaging efficiency within the factory environment

 Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Packaging Engineering, Engineering, or related field
  • Alternatively, minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (packaging-related)
  • Experience in packaging design, testing, and evaluation
  • Knowledge of compatibility testing between products and packaging materials
  • Ability to conduct physical and dimensional packaging testing
  • Experience with shelf-life validation and product stability considerations
  • Ability to manage packaging trials and production release processes
  • Understanding of packaging materials, cosmetic formulations, and decoration processes
