Job Description
Life Underwriter – Johannesburg – Braamfontein
Our client in the medical insurance industry is looking for an enthusiastic Life Underwriter.
What You’ll Do:
• Assess life and disability applications across standard and substandard risks
• Make confident, evidence-based underwriting decisions
• Work with reinsurers on complex cases
• Provide clear, trusted guidance to stakeholders
What You’ll Bring:
– 3 5 years’ experience in Individual Life Underwriting
– Strong medical underwriting expertise, including impairments and substandard risks
• Understanding of financial underwriting principles
• Reinsurance and complex case experience
• Relevant qualification (Insurance, Medical or related field)
• FAIS Fit & Proper (RE5 advantageous)
