Namib Poultry (Pty) Ltd is a fully integrated broiler production operation established in 2012 and situated 30 km north of Windhoek on the A1 Highway on the farm Klein Okapuka in Namibia. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The primary purpose of the Junior Primary Health Care Nurse role is multifaceted. It involves Consultation, Diagnosis, Treatment, Emergency Response, Assisting in Occupational Testing, Stock Control, and Statistical Reporting. Overall, the Junior Primary Health Care Nurse plays a vital role in promoting employee health and well-being, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the Namib Mills Group.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide medical support to all employees.
  • Help and treat all emergencies that may occur.
  • Help with the completion of IOD paperwork.           
  • Arrange transport by ambulance for all serious IOD and medical cases.    
  • General examination of all sick employees, diagnoses, and treatment.                                     

Record keeping

  • Keep detailed records in employees’ files of diagnoses made and treatment plans.
  • Referral of employees with chronic medical problems.      
Dispensing of medication
  • Comply with all MOHS legislation.       
  • Comply with Company procedures and policies.                                
Controlling stock
  • Placing medication orders if required.
  • Record all usage of medication/stock, monthly stock take.

Ad Hoc

  • Performing additional work-related tasks as and when required by Management.                       
  • Always perform to the best of your ability and according to company standards and procedures. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE 
                        

  • Bachelor- Degree or Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing and Midwifery Science.
  • Proof of current registration with HPCNA.
  • At least +/- Two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare facility.
  • Community nursing qualification will be advantageous.
  • A graduate qualification in Pharmacotherapy will be highly advantageous.
  • Computer literate with a good mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Namibian Citizen.
  • Proficient in English, being bilingual will be advantageous.
  • Must be able to work- day/night shifts, weekends, overtime, and on public holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license.
