Job Description

**Purpose:**

The IT Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and optimising the lifecycle management of clients IT assets, including hardware, software, and related technology resources. The role ensures accurate asset tracking, compliance with organizational policies, licensing agreements, and regulatory requirements, while supporting cost optimisation, governance, risk management, and operational efficiency. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders and service providers to ensure IT assets are effectively procured, deployed, maintained, audited, and disposed of in accordance with best practices and the clients strategic objectives.

**Key responsibilities:**

– Develop, implement, and maintain IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, procedures, standards, and processes in line with clients governance framework and industry best practices.
– Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets, including planning, procurement, receipt, deployment, maintenance, transfers, upgrades, and secure disposal of hardware and software assets.
– Maintain an accurate and up-to-date IT asset repository by ensuring all asset information is recorded, verified, and regularly reconciled with procurement and operational records.
– Monitor software license compliance, manage software entitlement records, and ensure adherence to vendor licensing agreements while identifying opportunities for license optimisation.
– Conduct regular IT asset audits, physical verification exercises, and inventory reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
– Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, ICT Operations, and vendors to support asset acquisition, contract management, budgeting, and forecasting of IT asset requirements.
– Analyse IT asset utilisation, identify underutilised or obsolete assets, and recommend cost-saving initiatives, asset redeployment opportunities, and lifecycle replacement plans.
– Produce accurate IT asset management reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support management decision-making, governance, audit requirements, and strategic planning.
– Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, corporate governance requirements, internal controls, and information security policies relating to the management of IT assets.
– Support internal and external audit activities by providing accurate asset records, resolving audit findings, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and maturity of the IT Asset Management function.

Qualifications and experience :

– Minimum 5+ years in IT Asset Management across hardware, software and cloud
– Degree/Diploma in IT, Finance or Related
– Demonstrated experience in asset lifecycle management, compliance, and integration with procurement/finance systems
