Job Description

A well-established concrete manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Assistant Production Manager with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to support daily factory operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational efficiencies are consistently achieved in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing daily factory and production operations to maximise efficiency and productivity.
  • Support production planning and ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing, machine utilisation, and production output.
  • Ensure production processes comply with company standards and operating procedures.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
  • Supervise production staff, allocate resources, and support workforce planning.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance support to production teams.
  • Maintain quality standards and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with safety inspections, incident reporting, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Prepare production reports, monitor KPIs, and maintain production documentation.
  • Coordinate effectively with production, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory production environment.
  • Experience supervising teams and managing production activities.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of production processes, quality control, and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Computer literacy with experience preparing reports and monitoring KPIs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.
