Job Description
Our client is seeking a proactive IT Technician to take ownership of day‑to‑day IT support services, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with business goals. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll manage installations, troubleshoot issues, and provide end‑user support across a diverse IT environment.
What you’ll do:
- Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and network access
- Uphold and test IT security, blocking unauthorised access
- Provide support across multiple business software applications
- Implement preventative maintenance plans and monitor system performance
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi/VLAN/VoIP/biometric/AV connections
- Configure and maintain switches, servers, RAID controllers, and backups
- Install and configure hardware/software, repair or replace damaged equipment
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues and endorse system upgrades
- Provide weekly feedback on job cards and maintain accurate IT records
- Mentor junior technicians and ensure compliance with safety standards
What we’re looking for:
- Matric (Grade 12) and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
- A+, N+, MCSE, MCSA, MCITP certifications advantageous
- Strong knowledge of Cisco/Dell Layer 3 switching, group policy, and backup environments
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines
- Self‑motivated, target‑driven, and willing to work standby
- Own transport required
