Job Description

SALARY: R1 317 384 per annum (all-inclusive salary package)

CENTRE: Provincial Office, Western Cape

 

REQUIREMENTS: An NQF level 7 qualification as recognised by SAQA in Social Sciences (Psychology), Industrial Psychology, Public Administration, Public Management, Business Administration or Business Management. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience at a middle or senior managerial level in the Employment Services and Skills Development environment. A valid driver’s licence. Knowledge of Good Governance, departmental policies and procedures, general administrative processes, recruitment and selection, ILO Conventions, financial management, PFMA, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity, COIDA, Skills Development Act, and Public Service Regulations. Skills in planning and organising, facilitation, communication, computer literacy, research, presentation, interpersonal relations, report writing, leadership, problem solving, and project management.

 

DUTIES: Oversee and manage work seeker services (registration and employment counselling) within the Province. Direct and manage employer services within the Province. Ensure implementation of work schemes to enable youth and other vulnerable work seekers to gain, maintain, or create employment. Provide leadership and technical support across all areas of public employment services. Monitor and report on the implementation of policies, standards, the Annual Performance Plan, and Work Plan. Manage all resources within the Business Unit.
