Job Description

– Salary: R1 101 468 per annum (Level 12), all-inclusive package.

– Location: North-West Region, Klerksdorp.

– Requirements: National Diploma in Occupational Hygiene/Environmental Health (NQF Level 6) plus Certificate in Mine Environmental Control, valid driver’s licence, and 3–5 years’ experience in occupational hygiene.

– Knowledge: Mine Health and Safety Act & Regulations, Hazard Identification and Risk Management, Public Service Staff Code, DMPR Policies.

– Skills: Interpretation and application of Mine Health and Safety Act & DMPR Policy, management (planning, leading, organising, controlling), report writing, interpersonal relations, negotiation, language proficiency, computer literacy.

– Attributes: Innovative thinking, analytical skills, sound decision-making, openness ideas, composure under pressure, dynamic personality.

– Duties: Coordinate and conduct underground, shaft, and surface audits; investigate mine accidents, contraventions, and complaints; analyse accident trends; serve on boards of examiners; provide input on mine closures, rights, permits, EMPs, and township development; perform managerial activities.
