– Qualifications: Three-year recognised qualification (NQF 6) or Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF 7) in Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Hygiene, Analytical Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering

– Requirements: Valid driver’s licence; Four years of functional experience in Health and Hygiene inspection services

– Knowledge: Departmental policies and procedures, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Batho Pele Principles, Public Service Act and Regulations, OHS Standards, OHS Management System, OHSAS, Inspection Appointment Certificate (including ex-officio)

– Skills: Facilitation, Planning and Organising, Computer literacy, Interpersonal skills, Problem solving, Interviewing, Listening and observation, Presentation, Innovation, Communication, Analytical skills, Research, Project management, Responsibility, Goal orientation, Discipline, Deadline management, Assertiveness

– Duties: Contribute to development and implementation of Health and Hygiene policies and OHS strategy; Conduct complex Health and Hygiene inspections; Perform technical research on Occupational Health and Hygiene trends; Support enforcement actions including report preparation for legal proceedings
