Job Description
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager: Pharmacist to oversee production operations within a highly regulated manufacturing facility.This role is ideal for a registered Pharmacist with strong pharmaceutical production experience, sound GMP knowledge, and proven leadership capability within a sterile or aseptic manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day production operations to ensure maximum output and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with GMP, MCC/SAHPRA, QA processes, and SOP requirements
- Oversee equipment calibration, maintenance, and validation activities
- Manage production assets, consumables, and operational procurement needs
- Compile and review production and management reports
- Lead, coach, and develop production staff
- Ensure compliance with OHSA and maintain a safe working environment
- Develop and maintain SOPs and production-related documentation
Minimum Requirements:
- B.Pharm Degree
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist
- Minimum 6 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
- At least 1 year exposure to aseptic processing
- 2 years supervisory or management experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Strong understanding of GMP, sterilization methods, validations, and aseptic techniques
- Computer literacy and sound general management capability
