Engineering Foreman – Crushing (Open‑Cast Mining, Randburg)

Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Foreman – Crushing to lead the crushing and screening operations within an open‑cast mining environment. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, maintenance oversight, and team supervision to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality performance in the crushing department.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure compliance with mine safety regulations and promote a safe working environment
  • Oversee planned maintenance schedules, inspections, and spare parts availability
  • Monitor equipment performance, downtime accuracy, and job card quality
  • Drive high standards of reliability through oil sampling, corrective actions, and quality checks
  • Lead and mentor Artisans, ensuring discipline, teamwork, and skills development
  • Collaborate with planners, buyers, and control room teams to optimise operations

What we’re looking for:

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) and Qualified Artisan (N3)
  • Valid driver’s licence (Wireman’s licence advantageous)
  • 5+ years post‑trade experience, with at least 3 years on fixed/mobile crushing and screening plants in open‑cast mining
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role (qualification advantageous)
  • Medically fit to pass mine medical examination
  • Strong knowledge of crushing and screening equipment, maintenance, and SHE compliance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
