A leading heavy equipment service provider is seeking a Workshop Assistant with a passion for Komatsu machinery and Heavy Earthmoving Equipment. This role involves hands-on support in machine assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and basic maintenance, while assisting artisans and technicians in daily workshop operations.

The successful candidate will be safety-focused, proactive, and eager to grow within the earthmoving machinery industry.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Machine and component assembly/disassembly.
• Cleaning and basic maintenance of components and machines.
• General workshop housekeeping.
• Operate and drive Komatsu service vehicles.
• Assist artisans in all aspects of machine servicing.
• Operate Komatsu machinery when required.
• Work overtime, standby, and travel when necessary.
• Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety standards.
• Use and maintain basic workshop tools effectively.
• Collaborate within a team and work under pressure.

🎓 Candidate Requirements

Qualification:

• Grade 12 (Matric).

Experience:

• Minimum 6 months in a general workshop or technical environment (advantageous).
• Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Forklift, crane, or welding certificate (advantageous).
• Valid Code 8 driver’s license (essential).
• Valid Code 14 driver’s license (advantageous).
• Passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery.
• Basic knowledge of SHE / Health & Safety Act.
• Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
