Job Description

We are looking to appoint an **Accountant** to join our team. This role plays a key part in supporting multiple operational business units, providing strong financial analysis, reporting, and insight to drive performance.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for compiling management accounts, interpreting financial data, and contributing to informed decision-making across the business.
This position is well suited to someone who thrives in a high-volume, operational environment and is comfortable working across multiple entities with varying financial requirements.
**Duties include but are not limited to the following:**
– Responsible for generating monthly management accounts for multiple entities, including balance sheets, income statements, and accompanying schedules within agreed timelines
– Analyze budget vs actual variances and communicate findings
– Conduct reconciliations and generate reports for various company accounts pertaining to cash flow
– Provide management and guidance to Cashbook, Payments & Creditors Controllers, and Billing Administrators
– Prepare audit packs and collaborate with auditors on annual financial statements
– Handle submission of statutory returns for VAT
– Review payments for accuracy of allocation and VAT treatment
– Perform regular review of cashbooks, invoicing, and debtors ageing analysis, assisting in credit control management
– Authorise payments on the banking portal
– Investigate expense variances and incorporate findings into income statement schedules as notes
– Address and follow up on account queries promptly
– Manage ad hoc projects, queries, and analyses as needed
– Identify, recommend and communicate process improvements to enhance internal controls, operational efficiency and financial reporting across multiple operational entities.
**Qualifications**
:
– BCom in Accounting or Financial Accounting
– Completed or working towards a professional accounting designation (e.g. SAIPA or CIMA) (advantageous)
**Experience:**
– Proven experience as an Accountant
– Advanced Excel experience
– Proven experience in a commercial, corporate, or operational environment
– Experience as an Accountant in an operational, high-volume environment
– Solid knowledge of financial processes, systems, and relevant regulations
– Experience with Google sheets (advantageous)
– Must have experience managing the full accounting cycle (source to reporting), including preparing accounts to balance sheet and income statement level.
– Must have been responsible for ensuring that accounts are accurate, complete, and provide meaningful financial insight

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi-time between 06h30 and 18h30.
