Job Description
Responsible for supporting IT departments in resolving network issues, maintaining firewalls, and ensuring secure, high-performing infrastructure. This role combines technical administration, project management, and compliance oversight to deliver reliable IT services.
Key Responsibilities
Network Support & Administration
- Assist IT teams in troubleshooting routers, firewalls, and other network equipment.
- Provide clear explanations of issues and resolution practices to stakeholders.
- Perform firmware upgrades and ensure equipment is up to date.
- Administer and maintain network and firewall systems to guarantee availability and security.
Infrastructure Design & Transformation
- Design WAN, MAN, and LAN infrastructure across business entities.
- Translate functional requirements into technical solutions aligned with business strategies.
- Build and maintain architectural standards and principles.
- Independently manage infrastructure transformation projects in compliance with client standards.
- Ensure capacity planning and manage IT hardware resources, including inventory.
Performance & Security
- Optimize data availability and performance through tuning, automation, and query optimization.
- Monitor scalability and volume growth to ensure efficient data access.
- Administer user access permissions and address data security issues in collaboration with security engineers.
- Conduct compliance audits to maintain high availability and security standards.
Monitoring & Incident Management
- Track incidents using monitoring tools, analyze severity and root causes, and implement corrective measures.
- Manage version migrations and ensure smooth transitions.
- Participate in architecture projects, evaluating new technologies and assessing impact.
- Oversee infrastructure deployments by internal and external teams.
Reporting & SLA Management
- Update documentation and operating procedures to enhance the knowledge base.
- Adhere to client-defined SLAs and monitor compliance with managers.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science
- Fortinet NSE 6 certified
- CCNP / Aruba ACP certified
- Azure Networking (advantage)
- ITIL Practitioner (V3) / ITIL Specialist (V4)
- ISO 27000 and other IT security training
- Prince2, PMP or equivalent (advantage)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant IT experience
- Strong background in supporting and maintaining networks and firewalls
- Hands-on expertise with FortiGate/Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba, Pulse Secure, VMware, and Microsoft Azure
- Extensive experience implementing VPNs, SD-WANs, MPLS, SSL VPNs, WLANs, and virtualized/cloud environments
- Proven ability to manage technical projects in large corporate environments
- Familiarity with ITSM and collaborative solutions
