Job Description

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, from financial performance and stock management to team leadership and customer service. This role drives profitability, ensures operational efficiency, and fosters a customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Operational Management

  • Achieve financial targets by aligning sales and costs with budget requirements.
  • Implement pricing policies, monitor stock levels, and reduce shrinkage.
  • Conduct weekly stock counts and competitor price checks.
  • Plan weekly stock needs and monitor negative stock reports to ensure smooth operations.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Increase foot traffic through promotions, displays, and marketing materials.
  • Lead by example, motivating the team to deliver exceptional service and achieve high satisfaction scores.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and ensure accurate, timely deliveries.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Hold monthly team meetings to review performance, address issues, and discuss promotions.
  • Provide training and development opportunities, including one-on-one sessions and performance reviews.
  • Manage daily operations, absenteeism, and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Store Administration & Stock Control

  • Maintain accurate stock levels, keeping out-of-stock items below 2%.
  • Submit weekly negative stock lists and monitor stock against targets.
  • Ensure availability of key products, especially high-demand items.

Opening & Closing Duties

  • Arrive early to conduct store walkthroughs and prepare for the day.
  • Plan next-day deliveries with the Yard Manager and ensure team readiness.

Housekeeping & Fleet Management

  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and expense tracking.
  • Maintain a clean, organized store and yard with neatly merchandised products.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in retail management with a track record of driving sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong financial management skills with the ability to meet budget targets.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for team development and motivation.
  • Proactive problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • Detail-oriented with high standards for store presentation, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
