Job Description

Introduction
Our client, based in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town, offers Accounting, Tax and Auditing services. They are currently looking for an Audit Manager to join their dynamic team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, organised and professional audit manager who enjoys working with a diverse client base, leading audit teams and maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and client service.

Duties & Responsibilities

Managing audit and independent review engagements from planning to finalisation

Reviewing audit files, working papers, annual financial statements and supporting documentation

Supervising and supporting audit trainees and junior audit staff

Ensuring audit engagements are completed within budget, deadlines and professional standards

Liaising directly with clients, directors and senior management

Identifying audit risks, technical issues and file deficiencies timeously

Assisting with audit planning, resource allocation and staff development

Monitoring progress on audit assignments and resolving bottlenecks

Ensuring compliance with firm methodology, quality control requirements and applicable professional standards

Working closely with the Head of Audit and the broader management team

Desired Experience & Qualification

Relevant degree

Completed SAICA articles

Relevant post-articles audit experience in an audit firm environment

Strong technical knowledge of auditing, accounting and financial reporting standards

Experience in managing audit teams and reviewing audit files

Good working knowledge of CaseWare will be advantageous

Experience with Xero and other cloud accounting systems will be advantageous

Strong planning, review and deadline-management skills

Professional written and verbal communication skills

Ability to deal directly with clients in a professional manner

Fluent in Afrikaans and English

CANDIDATE MUST BE BASED IN THE WESTERN CAPE.

Package & Remuneration
R 35 000 to R 50 000 per month, depending on experience, technical ability and audit management capability.
