An exciting opportunity has become available for a Software Developer in Sandton where you’ll develop cloud and IoT systems using AWS, TypeScript, microservices, and Angular that monitor and protect workers in high-risk environments across the globe.

Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate within a cross-functional engineering team to build and enhance cloud-based IoT solutions

Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using TypeScript on AWS infrastructure

Support system reliability, scalability, performance, and observability in production environments

Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code to enable automated and consistent deployments

Develop and maintain frontend features using modern web technologies (e.g. Angular)

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation to improve delivery speed and efficiency

Build internal tools and automation to support engineering productivity and continuous improvement

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelor’s degree (BSc or BEng) in Computer Science, Informatics, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field

5+ years of professional software development experience in a production environment

Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js for backend development

Solid experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservice-based architectures

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and understanding of cloud-native principles

Strong SQL experience, ideally with PostgreSQL

Experience with modern frontend development using JavaScript/HTML/CSS, with Angular preferred

Solid understanding of automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation and/or Ansible
