Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to play a key role in modernising a high-performance software platform. This opportunity is ideal for a technically accomplished developer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, contributing to software architecture, and mentoring fellow developers. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help transform a mature application into a scalable, microservices-based solution while maintaining exceptional performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse and redesign an existing C++ application using a high-performance programming language of your choice.

Optimise application performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Process MIME-formatted emails, including business cards, disclaimers, banners, and tracking links.

Develop and maintain complex regular expressions to ensure accurate email content placement.

Migrate business logic from PostgreSQL stored procedures to the API layer.

Contribute to technical architecture and the transition to a microservices environment.

Collaborate with the DevOps team within an Azure Kubernetes ecosystem.

Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers where required.

Troubleshoot production issues and implement robust solutions.

Work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years’ professional software development experience.

Strong ability to read and understand C++ code.

Expertise in a performant language such as Rust, Go, Java, or C#.

Experience with MIME email processing and regular expressions.

Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills.

Experience designing APIs and working with microservices.

Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps practices.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Advantageous

Master’s degree in a related field.

Experience with multiple programming languages.

Knowledge of SMTP, IMAP, and related email protocols.

Azure cloud experience.

Knowledge of software security best practices.

Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
