Job Description
JOB TITLE : Brand Communications Co-ordinator
Department : Ares Holdings, Brands
Reporting to : Brand Communications Manager
Direct reports : TBC
Key customers : Brand team, Ambassadors, Customers
Main purpose : As a Brand Communications Coordinator, you will provide essential support to the Brand Communications Manager in executing integrated communication strategies and activities that enhance the brands presence and engage target audiences. You will assist in coordinating brand communications, public relations, events, partnerships, and collaborations.
ACCOUNTABILITY 1: SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
- Develop, implement, and manage various social media channels.
- Content Creation: Assist in developing engaging brand narratives and content for various communication channels, including social media, blogs, press releases, and internal communications.
- Collaborate with the creative team to ensure content is aligned with the brand’s voice and guidelines.
- Stay Updated: Stay informed about the latest industry trends, digital media advancements, and emerging communication platforms to bring fresh ideas and innovation to the team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY 2: PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS - Support in identifying and researching potential strategic partnerships and collaborations.
- Assist in coordinating partnerships, collaborations, and related activations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY 3: CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
- Collaborate with various internal teams, such as marketing, creative, and product, to ensure alignment and integration of brand communication initiatives with broader brand strategies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY 4: PUBLIC RELATIONS SUPPORT
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with media outlets, influencers, and industry partners.
- Support in the coordination of media inquiries, sample requests, and press releases distribution
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY 5: REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
- Assist in gathering and analysing data to evaluate the effectiveness of brand communication initiatives and activations.
- Support in preparing reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

- Respond to emails and office correspondence.
- Keep work area clean and tidy.
- Support the mission, vision and core values of the company.
- Meet prescribed deadlines and targets.
- Professional interaction and liaison with customers, suppliers and employees always.
- Any other reasonable and lawful ad hoc tasks or duties that may be required from time to time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Grade 12(Matric)
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Media, Journalism or a related field is advantageous
Experience
- 2–4 years’ experience in brand communications, public relations, social media, events or marketing coordination roles
- Practical experience supporting brand campaigns, events, product launches or activations
- Exposure to media liaison, influencer engagement or partnership coordination
- Experience working across digital and traditional communication channels
- Experience in a lifestyle, sports, fashion or consumer brand environment is advantageous
Industry Knowledge
- Working understanding of brand positioning, storytelling and consistent brand messaging
- Knowledge of content creation for social, press, digital and internal communication platforms
- Exposure to public relations processes, including media lists, press releases and sample coordination
- Understanding of event and activation support, including logistics, timelines and stakeholder coordination
- Familiarity with digital media platforms, social media tools and basic performance metrics
- Ability to assist with campaign reporting and insight gathering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to tone, detail and accuracy
- Well-developed organisational and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong administrative discipline and follow‑through
- Passion for brands, culture and consumer engagement
- Valid driver’s licence
