A fast-growing FMCG distribution company is looking for an experienced Field Sales Agent with strong retail acquisition and relationship management skills to drive sales growth within an assigned territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing new retail stock lists, increasing repeat orders, maintaining merchandising standards, and building long-term relationships with independent retailers.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and secure new retail stock lists within the assigned territory
• Drive first-order sales and manage repeat order opportunities
• Maintain strong relationships with store owners and managers
• Ensure correct merchandising, pricing visibility, and stock rotation
• Conduct regular store visits to prevent stock shortages and improve reorders
• Develop and manage daily route plans for effective territory coverage
• Capture all sales activities, orders, and visit outcomes on CRM systems
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and market trends
• Provide product education and first-line support to retailers
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant product regulations
• Participate in sales meetings, coaching sessions, and KPI reviews

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and willingness to travel daily
• 1–3 years’ field sales experience within FMCG, beverages, liquor, tobacco, vape, telecoms, or related industries
• Proven experience in new business development and retail account acquisition
• Experience dealing with independent retailers, wholesalers, or convenience stores advantageous
• Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills
• Experience with merchandising, route planning, and reorder management
• Comfortable using CRM systems and mobile sales applications
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently in a fast-paced sales environment
